Louis has extensive litigation and transactional experience gained from working on a diverse and varied set of interesting and complex legal issues. Louis’ exposure to global commercial practice enables him to adequately proffer  tailor-made legal solutions to local and trans-border clients on complex, transnational matters. Louis finished with a First Class degree from the University of Ibadan and equally holds an LLM from the prestigious University of Cambridge. Under the aegis of the Pegasus Scholarship awarded by the Inns of Court in the UK, Louis worked in different barristers’ chambers in London and garnered significant exposure to international litigation and arbitration.

Since joining SCP, Louis has demonstrated an incisive and in-depth knowledge of international commercial law.  He has conducted extensive research on both local and domestic arbitration, conflict of laws in multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes, aviation, energy and project finance. 

Louis’ current and most recent engagements include:

  • Coordination of a bank licence revocation claim against the Central Bank of Nigeria. 
  • Participation in the legal team representing a leading specialist systems integrator and ICT services company in a contractual suit against an airport regulatory authority arising from an anticipated breach of contract.
  • Representing Lagos State Government in a public interest suit against the federal government arising from the 2006 National population census in Nigeria.
  • Advising one of Nigeria’s leading banks regarding exit strategies from a botched real estate transaction.
  • Advising a leading pan-African organization on its corporate restructuring scheme.
  • Advising a major financial institution on structuring a complex real estate investment transaction.
